Progressive Overload: URLIVE Podcast 3.4.2024


Rise & Shine! Today's episode of the @URLivePodcast_ is titled "Progressive Overload". 

My gym and fitness community out there are probably most familiar with this term, but for everyone else tuned in, by definition it is: when you gradually bump up the intensity of your strength training workouts to increase muscle size, strength, and endurance. Not only can this help you get results, it can help you push through plateaus as well. 

A Plateau, as a noun,  is a large flat area of land that is higher than other areas of land that surround it. As a verb, to plateau is to reach a state of little or no change after a period of time of activity or progress.

So... summed up and rephrased by me, progressive overload is a strategy to increase results of a desired outcome, especially in the instance of a plateau... Which is reaching a highest point...Stagnation.. No more growth... Nowhere else to go but to stay in the same place or go back down....
